Tubby Todd All Over Ointment Eczema

Shampoo / Body Wash / Lotion

Newborn Eczema Remedy/Tubby Todd All Over Ointment Review

This is one area I choose to make sure I use the same brand for all. When you are washing infants, shampoo and body wash is the same product youll use on them. Its not until they are older you will start using two different bottles.

  • We started with Aveeno which I love for my oldest, it cleans well and is gentle on his skin. Unfortunately, it did not work for Oliver.
  • I moved on to Dove White Soap on Oliver as this one is highly recommended. Once again, it did not work for Olivers skin, it actually made his skin worse.
  • The third brand we tried was Eucerin. Another highly recommended product by pediatric dermatologists especially for infants with eczema and sensitive skin. We didnt notice any immediate breakouts which were a great sign. We continued to use this product to finally see small improvements on his skin.
  • A couple of other brands that are recommended are CeraVe, Cetaphil, Tubby Todd. Ill discuss Tubby Todd a little later in the post.

Avoid Harsh Soaps Detergents And Solvents

And that is where Tubby Todd comes in! When we started Tubby Todd Bath Co. in 2014, we had tried EVERY product that claimed to help eczema and every natural and organic product on the market. We found that for our little guy’s sensitive skin, the more natural the better. We are careful to keep him away from any product that contains parabens, sulfates or artificial fragrances. But just weren’t finding anything that was getting rid of his sensitive skin issues. But once we started using our Lavender and Rosemary Hair & Body Wash, Dream Cream, and All Over Ointment every day, we saw a dramatic difference in our son’s skin. Previously stubborn rough, dry patches faded and smoothed. He was no longer itchy and uncomfortable. It was incredible.

How To Treat Eczema Prone Skin

We have had so many questions about eczema on our feed lately! Because our family has personally dealt with eczema with a couple of our kids, I wanted to share what we have found that seems to help with eczema prone skin.

Our little guy Walker has had the roughest skin since he was born. At first I thought it was allergies, and I stopped eating dairy and started taking out foods I thought he was allergic to. Often times children with allergies also have eczema, this was not the case for us. Our pediatrician diagnosed his condition as eczema, something I had heard of, but knew little about. Eczema affects about 10% to 20% of infants and about 3% of adults and children in the U.S. On infants it most commonly appears on the back of their knees, necks, and basically anywhere those yummy baby rolls are found. The concern with eczema is that it irritates your child’s skin, making them itch, and that the rashes will be open to infections.

The severity of your child’s eczema will depend on the type of treatment you will need to take. Consult with your pediatrician before taking any steps to prevent or treat eczema. For our family, we have found that there are a lot of things we can do to help our little man’s sensitive skin. Here are some tips from a mom who started her own bath and skin care company because I couldn’t find products that worked on my son’s skin. When your child is hurting and nothing’s working, you’ll do anything to find a solution!

What Causes Eczema In Babies

Eczema is currently on the rise in the United States, Canada, and other countries. Many people have theories about why the skin condition is on the rise, such as:

  • The common overuse of antibiotics, which has created antibiotic resistance and an affected immune system.
  • Cleaning products that contain artificial fragrances and irritants.

What officially causes eczema in babies is still debated, but research shows that genetic factors may play a role in whether your baby develops eczema. If at least one parent has eczema, the child is two to three times more likely to have it as well.

However, genetics arent always a factor because many babies develop eczema without any family history of this condition. I can tell you that neither my husband nor I had eczema and our second baby did. So this didnt apply to us.

Tubby Todd review (treating eczema)

just to list a few. Not to mention it leaves the boys skin buttery soft and every single collection smells better than the last, but what we love the most – Finn hasnt had a single reaction since we made the switch. Because we saw such improved results it only made sense to use it for Hudson too.

The bundles are perfection. Every season a new collection is offered in a 3 set bundle where you can get your basic bath necessities – shampoo+body wash, bubble bath, and everyday lotion in their latest yummy scents. These are great for gifts and something I love to put in the kiddos stockings for Christmas, but my go to bundle is the Extra Tubby Bundle, and its just that: E X T R A. You get the nice big bottles with super convenient pumps and they last quite literally forever. Also, since Finn has longer hair we like to use their natural hair conditioner! PS. Ive totally used it on my own hair and it did not disappoint. Its so light and smells like a yummy lemon freeze pop!

Now lets talk about my end all be all very very favorite product.

Many people have had success treating eczema with Tubby Todd, specifically their All Over Ointment. We use it on my daughter to help prevent her eczema from flaring up.

How do you use Tubby Todd All Over Ointment?

Rub as much as is needed on your babys dry skin. I suggest starting with a small amount and adding more if needed because a little goes a long way with this product.

Does Tubby Todd help with cradle cap?

The All Over Ointment is what finally cleared up my sons cradle cap. To remove it we used the hair and body wash to wash his hair, scrubbed it with a soothing cradle cap brush, then applied Tubby Todd All Over Ointment to his scalp after the bath. It was gone after one use of the All Over Ointment.

Our Favorite Petroleum Jelly Replacement

Vaseline or petroleum jelly is a by-product of oil refinement, and not eco-friendly at all. Enter Bubbsiâs Coconut Oil Balm. Itâs natural, safe and based on coconut oil instead of being a byproduct of oil refinement. I love to use this stuff of chapped lips, red itchy patches or dry scaly elbows and ankles. It seals in the moisture really well and smells great. Iâll often apply this on top of regular lotion as a way to lock in the moisture and create a barrier.

Would I Recommend Tubby Todd All Over Ointment

Tubby Todd Review – Lotion for Baby Acne, Eczema, Dryness, Diaper Rash and More

Yep, I would. Its isnt cheap at $16 for a 3.5 oz jar but I am willing to pay for something that isnt full of garbage and that actually works. I wish I had it back when I had newborns to put it to the baby acne test but I was impressed enough with it from my own use. I would definitely add it to my routine and would happily give it as a gift to anyone with a new kiddo.

If youd like to check it out for yourself, you can find the Tubby Todd All Over Ointment on the Tubby Todd website. You can buy the All Over Ointment on its own or with one of their popular bundles that comes with products like their bubble bath, Lavender and Rosemary Hair + Body wash, etc.

If youve tried it, Id love to hear what you thought of it.

How We Treat Eczema With Tubby Todd

About a year and a half ago, I wrote an unsponsored Tubby Todd review. I had just discovered Tubby Todd the week before, and though I was skeptical, I decided to try out their All Over Ointment to treat Desmonds eczema. After trying so many products over the years with little to no results, I was amazed at how well it worked! Now that Ive been using Tubby Todd products for the past year and a half, I decided it was time for an updated opinion.

This is yet ANOTHER unsponsored post. They didnt ask me to share another review. But I wanted to share again because Ive been amazed again and again by the results and needed to share with anyone who missed it the first time around. So if you want to know more about how we got the results from these before and after photos, keep reading!

***I want to note that the lighting was different on the two days that I took these pictures but I did not exaggerate any results with editing.

We use the ointment for so many things and have personally seen success in our family in treating diaper rashes, other types of rashes/burns, baby acne, and cradle cap. We have gotten amazing results! It has gotten to the point that the kids request it for their boo boos more often than bandaids. Bandaids hold some sort of magical power when you put them oninstantly healing the pain. In our house, All Over Ointment is the upgraded version of bandaids.

Sensitive Skin And Eczema

Its amazing what you learn with each baby you have and how each of them can be so different. We knew when we had Asher, he may have sensitive skin because both my husband and I do as well. When Oliver was born, we were in for a whole new surprise and experience when it came to skin. I want to share what helps and how to deal with sensitive skin and eczema for infants.

When Asher was born, I wanted to stick to the products we use, as long as they are baby safe. His skin ended up doing great with all the products that were used on him. The one area where he would break out from which brings me to my first point is to wash all clothes before wearing them.

Mom To Mom Guide On Managing My Childs Eczema

Tubby Todd Bath Co, tubby todd, all natural, all natural ...

Here is the plan that as a parent, I wish I would have known when we first realized my son had eczema. There is NO one size fits all approach to managing a childs eczema and depending on how mild to severe and the location of your childs eczema, you may or may not feel compelled to consider the following options. I am outlining these notes based on our experiences and again, encourage you to check with your childs pediatrician, dermatologist, and/or allergist when considering any changes to your current approach. Information on eczema in children, the best treatment options, and the potential for dietary intervention to assist in the management of eczema are constantly changing. I encourage you to reach out to a pediatric dietitian trained in eczema or a Certified LEAP Therapist for additional support in the area of your childs diet.

The Before And After Pictures:

BeforeAfter

I took the before pictures last Thursday right before I applied the ointment for the first time and I took the after shots today, before I applied. I also forgot to apply yesterday. So this is technically only after 5 applications! I decided to experiment by only applying once a day, and not applying directly after a bath. Can you imagine the improvement if I was more aggressive? I just wanted to test the effectiveness at the lazy mom level. And I think the pictures prove how amazing it is!

Wash All Clothes Before Wear

This is important, because whether the clothes from a store or a friend, the clothes have traveled around or sat in a box collecting dust. You want to make sure they are clean and in the same detergent your baby is used to.

When it comes to detergents there are many to choose from. When the breakouts initially became noticeable on Oliver, this is the area we started with first.

  • Dreft is the most common for infants. I dont have experience with this detergent, but I have heard great comments from parents who use this.
  • All Free and Clear is another highly recommended detergent by pediatricians and pediatric dermatologists. Its not the same as other brands with Free and Clear, because the All brand is gentler on their skin due to fewer chemicals. Olivers breakouts subsided a little once we switched over.

Fabric softener and dryer sheets were other areas that can really irritate their skin more than the detergent. We decided to skin fabric softener all together and changed out dryer sheets for wool dryer balls.

Before I move on to the other areas to help and improve your babys skin, I want to point out when changing products your baby uses, do not change them all at once. If you do not space out the products and they ended up having a reaction, you will not know what is causing it. Yes, this may be a long process, but once you figure out the best products for your babies it will all be worth it.

The Spots Have Definitely Faded

All Over Ointment

When I mentioned to Don over the weekend that Desmond seemed like a much happier, content baby all of the sudden, he brought up the fact that we had just started using the ointment and maybe that was the improvement. I really do think that it has helped reduce the itching so much that he has become a happier baby. Happier than hes been in months. Maybe its a coincidence, but I really do think it was because of this change.

A little bit of ointment goes a long way. So this jar will last me quite a while. All products from Tubby Todd are 100% natural. They are created by a mom with sensitive-skinned babies in mind. One of the biggest selling points to me was that this is a small business. I love supporting small businesses and Im even more excited when I find one that I love. I will definitely be purchasing more products from them in the future!

If you have a sensitive-skinned baby, I definitely recommend them! Also, if you sign up for their newsletter, they will send you a code for a 10% discount. If anyone else tries it, I would love to know what you think!

Is Tubby Todd Worth It

With so many different baby products out there, is Tubby Todd worth it? In my opinion, yes! With it be a safe, natural option to actually tend to my kids needs, its a definite win in my book.

Its especially perfect for families with sensitive skin needs. If your little one has ezcema or irritated skin, I would definitely recommend tryin gout their products espeically the All Over Ointment!
