Causes Of Weeping Eczema
Weeping eczema is often caused by an infection. Your skin can become infected if you scratch it too much or if it becomes cracked. This allows , viruses, or fungi to enter the exposed area. An infection can worsen eczema symptoms and make your condition more difficult to treat.
Signs of infection may include:
- blisters or pus on the skin
- skin that weeps a yellow, golden, or clear fluid
- dry crusts on the skin
- itching, soreness, or reddening of the skin
- worsening symptoms of eczema
- small, red spots around body hair
- swollen glands in the neck, armpit, or groin area
A common bacterium, known as staphylococcus or staph, is the cause of most infections in people with eczema. Staph can easily find its way onto broken skin. More than 90 percent of people with moderate-to-severe eczema have staph on their skin.
A virus, called or the cold sore virus, can also enter the skin. It can lead to a serious infection known as eczema hereticum. In addition to weeping eczema, eczema hereticum can cause itchy blisters and fever.
Fungal infections, such as tinea, commonly known as , are another problem that can sometimes cause skin infections in people with eczema. In addition to weeping blisters, ringworm causes red, itchy, scaly, or raised patches of skin with a red ring on the outer edge.

Eczema is brought about by the complex interplay of a genetic predisposition and the childs environment. Many things from the climate to possible allergens can cause eczema to flare. We know that eczema tends to run in the families with a predisposition to other atopic diseases, such as food allergies, asthma and hay fever. Individuals with atopic dermatitis may lack certain proteins in the skin, which leads to greater sensitivity. Parents with eczema are more likely to have children with eczema. However, the exact way it passes from parents to children is still not known. Most children who have eczema will show signs of the condition in the first year of life. Every day, wash your face with a gentle cleanser or water, pat the skin dry on the areas that are inflamed to soothe them, and then use a water-based moisturizer such as a cream or lotion to lock in moisture and reduce redness. This can really help to reduce inflammation fast!
Looking into your facial soaps, cleansers, and make-up products can help to see if there are harsh ingredients such as sulfates, exfoliants, or fragrance that might be causing your skin to break out.
Eczema on the face is typically patches of red and inflamed skin. This makes facial dermatitis especially difficult for children and adults to deal with, as it can be quite obvious and apparent!
Inflammation can also worsen due to outdoor triggers such as poor air quality such as pollution, dust, and dry weather. Because the skin has very little protection, its important to remove potential irritants and triggers.

What Are The Signs & Symptoms Of Eczema
The signs of eczema :

- Older kids and teens usually get the rash in the bends of the elbows, behind the knees, on the neck, or on the inner wrists and ankles. Their skin is often scalier and drier than when the eczema first began. It also can be thicker, darker, or scarred from all the scratching .

Develop A Skin Care Routine
I ditched the Steroid Cream & voluntarily went through withdrawal. Once I found a skincare routine that works, I stuck to it! Theres no need to experiment with new things if youve already found something natural that works for you.
If youve used steroid cream for an extended period of time, talk to your doctor about stopping. Stopping extended use of steroid cream means that you will withdraw from the drug. If you choose to quit the steroid cream and go through withdrawal, prepare to look like a molting lizard in the driest desert. Prepare to be so itchy you feel insane, and to be in pain. I broke out in multiple rashes and had chills.
It took about 3 weeks total for the withdrawals to stop. After, I looked like a whole new person. My skin was actually glowing for the first time ever and all of the eczema was gone! Until I got too excited and tried some face serum I never used before. Thats when the eczema returned on my eyelids. I obviously discontinued the use of the face serum and once again Im eczema free!
Here are some photos of my puffy, inflamed skin and face and my hives during withdrawal. The worst thing for me was not being able to open my eyes fully. My left eye was always more inflamed than the right and it made me look disproportioned and disfigured.
