Is Cerave Or Cetaphil Better Which Is Better Cetaphil Or Cerave
So, after reviewing the strengths, weaknesses and overlap of these two brands, you may be wondering whether or not it is CeraVe or Cetaphil that takes the leading reign.
To be frank, CeraVe is the overall better brand.
Although Cetaphil has a strong following and is often recommended by dermatologists, it in no way competes with CeraVes offer of three essential ceramides and hyaluronic acid to repair, restore, smooth and moisturize skin.
Unlike Cetaphil, CeraVe products contain no masking fragrances, no parabens, no sulfates and very few, if any, other controversial ingredients.
Because of these facts, CeraVe wins out by a long shot if youve got particularly sensitive or acne prone skin.
Cetaphil Vs Cerave Face Wash
Well compare in these next few sections Cerave vs Cetaphil Cleansers. There are many of them, so lets start with their face washes.
When it comes to CeraVe vs Cetaphil for face wash cleansers, the two brands are quite different.
Cetaphil, for example, contains disodium lauryl sulfate and masking fragrances. This could prove irritating for some. Still, it has Vitamins B3, B5 and glycerine to help combat dryness, and claims to remove up to 94% of impurities.
CeraVe, on the other hand, contains no fragrances at all, and continues to bolster its MVE technology, ceramides, hyaluronic acid and even glycerin making this one a potentially better grab than the Cetaphil cleanser, especially for those with exceptionally sensitive skin.

Is Cetaphil Good For Sensitive Skin
Yes it isfor the most part.
Despite Cetaphil not having the particular bells and whistles that CeraVe offers, it is still a solid choice for most skin types.
You will need to be careful, though.
Some of the pesky ingredients that lurk in Cetaphil products can cause skin irritation in some people, so if you notice breakouts, redness or inflammation while using Cetaphil you might need to switch to something else.
How To Care For Eczema Skin
Not only is eczema uncomfortable, but it can also be unpleasant. You can lower your self-confidence to such a degree that you avoid leaving the house, fearing that others will see your skin irritation, as well as avoiding elements of the environment that aggravate or trigger eczema.
If this happens to you, then these handy eczema skincare tips will do the trick:
Avoid hot showers
A hot shower is relaxing, but it wont help when it comes to eczema skin. Rather than being calming, it can remove the skins natural protective barrier, which can aggravate the condition.
In addition to triggering flare-ups of eczema, the loss of skin protection can also make it more prone to infection. The next time you need to shower, keep using warm or cold water and make sure you dont spend more than 10 minutes in it.
On the other hand, just as you are trying to obtain a suitable facial cleanser for skin with eczema, you should look for an equally suitable body cleanser. Whether you prefer a recommended liquid eczema soap or stick to your taste for the best eczema soaps, it is always preferable to rely on formulations specially designed for your condition.
Apply a moisturizer after showering
When you shower, you allow the water to soak into your skin. The best way to seal in that hydration is to apply a good layer of moisturizer or lotion after your bath.
Since it can be very easy to forget this step, it is a good idea to keep a bottle near the towel or in an area where you can easily see it.

My eczema isn’t all that bad, I only get it on the backs of my knees and inner elbows, but it’s still annoyingly itchy and dry, I guess I’ll start trying each one of these

My granddaughter was born with eczema. We tried just about everything, the steroids the over the counter creams, until someone recommended this eczema kit from this site called Asebella. I ordered the eczema kit from them and it instantly stopped the itching, the red bumps and the dryness. I even ordered some healing butter for the dark marks and now her skin looks and feels FANTASTIC. She is only 7 and no longer itching. She takes her kit with her everywhere she swears by it.

The Vaseline sounds promising. I use one Eucerin at work and don’t notice a huge difference over regular lotion, except that it smells worse.

Don’t Miss: What Is The Best Face Wash For Eczema
Treating Eczema On The Face With Eczema Face Wash
Cortisone, the topical ointment typically used in the treatment of eczema, thins the skin over time, so although it reduces the itch, its use should be limited. Cosmetic products that contain only natural ingredients for cleaning, soothing, and moisturizing the skin will ensure that flare-ups are limited.
Because eczema is so individualized, every sufferer should have a multi-faceted personal skin care regime. This should include a skin care plan to prevent flare-ups, and one that soothes the symptoms of eczema when inflammation does occur.
The face should be washed morning and night with a gentle cleanser for eczema that does not contain soap. Use a soft towel to gently dry the skin before applying medication if required. The routine should always end with the application of moisturizer.
Ingredients To Avoid If You Have Eczema
For people with eczema, any skincare product has the potential to cause irritation. This idea can make you very uncomfortable trying new products.
However, the truth is that eczema is not actually caused by trying new skincare products. It is actually some ingredients in those products that can trigger the condition.
Every skin is different. And because of the uniqueness of your skin, you have to know how sensitive it is.By becoming familiar with what can trigger eczema in your case, you can safely try new products without worsening the condition of your skin.
Heres a quick list of the 5 ingredients to safely avoid:
1. Ingredients for drying the product
Stay away from products that contain alcohol, astringents, and retinoids, as these ingredients can make your skin even drier. You should also avoid products that contain salicylic acids.
The fragrance is commonly added to skincare items to mask the strong odor of preservatives and chemicals. The fragrance alone can also trigger eczema.
Sulfates can thin the skins natural barrier, which can cause further moisture loss. This ingredient can also compromise the permeability of the skin.
4. Synthetic dyes
Synthetic dyes are known to cause allergic reactions. They can irritate highly sensitive skin and cause rashes.
Not all sensitive skin reacts badly to petroleum products. Psoriasis, for example, can find relief in this ingredient. For eczema, however, it is best avoided.

What Actually Is Eczema
Defined by distinct patches of rough, dry skin that is often red and scaly, eczema is a non-contagious skin condition that is sometimes referred to as atopic dermatitis. Often its most distressing symptom is a gnawing itch that accompanies these patches, which can appear all over the body. When eczema is very active, it may also become moist, crusted or weepy, says dermatologist Dr Justine Kluk. The skin can also eventually become thicker and darker in areas that are repeatedly scratched. Atopic eczema is the most common form of the skin condition, though others include contact dermatitis and seborrheic dermatitis.
