Quick Homemade Recipe To Use For Eczema

Essential Oils for Dermatitis and Eczema … that actually work 2019

Any basic essential oil recipe for eczema will require the use of an essential oil combined with the healing components of a carrier oil.

Simply combine one tablespoon of a carrier oil your choice with two or three drops of an essential oil that helps to treat eczema. Then use a cotton swab or your fingertips to lightly apply the mixture to the affected areas on the body. Reapply two or three times daily until the patches of skin are healed.

These oils may reduce the inflammation, itchiness, redness, and chronic dryness caused by the eczema condition.

What Causes Allergic Contact Dermatitis To Essential Oils

Allergic contact dermatitis is a delayed hypersensitivity reaction that generally occurs 2472 hours following exposure to an allergen. The mechanism involves recognition of the allergen by pre-sensitised T-lymphocytes, which release inflammatorycytokines that activate the skin immune system and cause dermatitis .

Each essential oil can have over 100 constituents . Often people with allergic contact dermatitis to essential oils react to many different oils, not just one, presumably because of shared constituents .

The native populations of New Zealand have traditionally used all parts of this plant as an important part of their healing tradition. It prevents bacterial infections, improves symptoms of dry scalp, and carries a relaxing nature with it ².

Manuka is related to Melaleuca essential oil, as they are both part of the same botanical family of Myrtaceae. Still, they are distinctly different oils. Tea tree oil is native to Australia, Manuka is native to New Zealand.

Why Use Glass And Not Plastic With Essential Oils

There are two reasons that you should be using a glass container when storing essential oils.

The first is that undiluted essential oils have some properties that will break down the plastic, which can destroy the oil and often cause leakage.

The second reason to get a tinted glass container is that the suns UV rays can increase the temperatures of the essential oil and cause deterioration to the quality of the oils.

So storing pure essential oils in a tinted or colored glass container is highly recommended.

Colored containers, like cobalt blue and amber-tinted glass, reflect the suns rays and protect oils when stored.

I didnt know this when I made the first batch of eczema cream, but since then have purchased the cobalt blue glass and spray bottles.

If you notice, all pure essential oils will come in a tinted glass bottle.

The first thing our daughter told me when we first applied the cream was thank you, mommy, it stopped itching.

My heart just filled up with joy, knowing that I made something that is working for her!

As parents, all we want is to see our children happy and not suffer.

Im so grateful to have found how amazing essential oils are and all the uses they are great for.
