Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Can I use the GLA Skin Oil with the Beeswax Body Cream?

Absolutely. In fact, I recommend that you use the GLA Skin Oil with the Beeswax Body Cream, especially if you are dealing with eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis. The GLA Skin Oil will enhance your results.

For really stubborn inflammatory skin conditions take 3 tsp of GLA skin oil daily. The combination of the Beeswax Body Cream topically and GLA internally are dynamite for tackling your skin condition from the inside out.

2. How quickly will I see results using the Beeswax Body Cream?

A – This depends on several factors, the most important being you. Things like age, current skin health, nutrition/hydration and genetics all contribute to determining this. Generally speaking, most users start to see results in under 7 days.

3. Is the Beeswax Body Cream suitable for all skin types?

A – Yes.

4. Can I use the beeswax skin cream around my eyes.

A – Yes, absolutely you can. It is non-irritating.

5. What is Borax and why is it in the Beeswax Body Cream?

Beeswax May Help Soften Skin

Dry, rough skin may benefit from creams, lotions or soaps that contain beeswax. When added to skincare products, beeswax is good for skin because it acts as an emollient and a humectant, drawing moisture to the skin and sealing it in, per the Molecules paper.

Beeswax also contains vitamin A, which may be beneficial in softening and rehydrating dry skin and in cell reconstruction.

Beeswax Uses In Skincare

Eczema Honey Original Skin

To be fair, the addition of beeswax into our modern skincare industry is fairly recent. However, thats not the case when we look back to humanitys past. Beeswax has a long tradition of cosmetic use, with even the ancients using it to remove hair from the skin. But thats not all – beeswax was also the first ingredient in the history of mankind used as a plastic and serving as a waterproofing and lubricating agent. Additionally, beeswax has been used as a polishing substance for leather, wood , as an additive in artistic paints as well as, of course, in the production of candles.

Today, the palette of beeswax use in skincare is being increasingly broadened. Skincare products that employ beeswax today come in different shapes and perform different purposes. Beeswax is used in quality moisturizers, various skincare gels, creams and ointments, and last but not least, many makeup products. However, beeswax remains an unlikely, fringe product, which makes many people oblivious to its use and benefits.

How The Kardashians Made Manuka Honey All The Buzz

It seems that honey is especially trendy in the skin-care world right now, but its cosmetic use goes back to ancient times, according to a study published in 2017 in Current Drug Metabolism. The type of honey that skin pros and celebs rave about today isnt the same as whats likely stocked in your pantry. Rather, theyre gushing about manuka honey, which is a kind of honey thats produced by bees that feed on New Zealands manuka bush, according to the National Cancer Institute.

Nazanin Saedi, MD, a board-certified dermatologist with Jefferson University in Philadelphia, says many patients have asked her about honey in recent years, likely after hearing the Kardashians publicly praise it for its many purported benefits, such as moisturizing the skin, clearing up blemishes, and giving the complexion a glow. Kourtney Kardashian even partnered with the brand Manuka Doctor and became a global ambassador back in 2016, according to Womens Wear Daily.

HONEST Eczema Honey Review!!!

Curious? Then give a Manuka Honey cream a try. My familys favorite is the Organic Manuka Skin Soothing Cream. But its also loved by so many other eczema sufferers, both children and adults.

This manuka honey eczema cream works very well when applied dry or on damp skin and is excellent when combined with wet wrap therapy because its so moisturizing. But dont just take my word for it read a couple of our customers testimonials below.

My daughter is classified as SEVERE ECZEMA. She is only 3 and stays in a state of miserable. We have 3 steroid creams and a host of every cream and ointment on the market. She has NEVER slept through the night due to waking scratching. Her hair and clothes stay greasy from all the junk we put on her that has been unsuccessful. We have been using this for 3 days. She is BARELY scratching and she went a full 7 hrs of sleep for first time. This is non greasy, but her skin feels soft and smooth. I have not used the steroid cream in 3 days either. So right now we LOVE THIS STUFF.

Tammy Lee, eczema mom

He asks for the honey by name and is soothed immediately when I put it on him. Immediate relief from his itching. Very happy with this product.

Beeswax Protects Your Skin From Environmental Damage

I bet we all know the feeling when we light a candle, and the hot, molten wax drops on our fingers. Have you noticed how it behaves? I mean, besides the burning of course. Beeswax is almost like safe, moldable plastic – once it cools, it forms an impermeable barrier over whatever it touches.

Well, when it comes to beeswax, what you see is what you get. It has the same properties when implemented into skincare products, providing the benefit of covering the skin with a thin film of protective barrier. When used like this in creams and gels, beeswax protects the skin from random environmental pollutants such as microscopic dust, smog, and cigarette smoke. These substances often contain so-called free radicals, which are a class of chemical compounds that have an especially deleterious effect on living tissue. Free radicals can enter our cells and damage their DNA, causing our cells to age prematurely, or even develop dangerous, cancerous mutations.

Generally speaking, antioxidants make short work of free radicals, but this is also where beeswax joins the rescue. By covering our skin, beeswax provides an impermeable barrier, preventing any free radicals from affecting our skin. Additionally, beeswax is often referred to as noncomedogenic, meaning that it wont clog your pores and will let your skin breathe freely.

There are good reasons why beeswax has been used topically on the skin since ancient Egyptian times.

You can find beeswax in many products today, including:

  • makeup
  • baby products

So, what makes it so good for skin, and how can you use it?

Many beauty products that contain beeswax are EWG-certified. This means that a product has gone through the Environmental Working Groups verification process to give consumers a better idea of its ingredients.

The next time you have chapped lips, try beeswax. You can purchase a ready-made version or make your own using this simple recipe.

Additional Uses For Beeswax

Natural Eczema Care Cream

Remember how long, and how varied, the history of beeswax is? Yes, there are truly dozens of other reasons to keep beeswax on hand. If you are a crafty one, you can find yourself storing your cheese in beeswax or even sealing letters to your pen pal with beeswax. On a more practical level, though, you can also keep beeswax in your bathroom for your hair. Beeswax can be applied directly to a dry scalp, you can use it on your split ends, and you can apply it lightly to your hair once it is styled to prevent flyaways. Look up YouTube tutorials for ways to mix in with your favorite oils, herbs, and other all-natural ingredients.

Ultimately, beeswax is one of those naturally occurring ingredients that is invaluable to have on hand. If you have not already, scout out your local bee farmer, or farmers, and stock up on beeswax for your skincare routine, your haircare process, and any other situation that may arise and call for this magical marvel of nature.

Beeswax Can Relieve Itching

Eczema Honey Review

People with sensitive skin need not look any further – they have a good friend in beeswax. Why? Because there is yet another benefit of beeswax, that very few people know about. Beeswax is known for its ability to soothe the skin and relieve itching. This is especially important for people who have suffered burn injuries, or people who suffer from chronic skin disorders like psoriasis and eczema. In all those cases, the changes to the skin and the nature of the injuries produce a strong, often uncontrollable urge to itch. The problem is, however, that scratching that itch will almost surely make the injuries, the psoriasis, or the symptoms of eczema much worse.

For these people, scratching one itch means scratching a ton of others too, and theyre caught in a loop of itch-ception. But this is where beeswax comes to the rescue. By being anti-allergenic and providing our skin with a gentle, but efficient protective cover, beeswax significantly reduces, and sometimes even completely eliminates itching. In fact, beeswax has a history of use when it comes to treating burns, and modern medicine has concluded that it was for a good reason. Applying beeswax on burn injuries, eczema prone skin, or an outbreak of psoriasis can provide instant – and much sought for – relief.

How Does Honey Heal The Skin

The healing property of honey is due to the fact that it offers antibacterial activity, maintains a moist wound condition, and its high viscosity helps to provide a protective barrier to prevent infection. Its immunomodulatory property is relevant to wound repair too.Honey is an ancient remedy for the treatment of infected wounds, which has recently been rediscovered by the medical profession, particularly where conventional modern therapeutic agents fail. The first written reference to honey, a Sumerian tablet writing, dating back to 2100-2000 BC, mentions honeys use as a drug and an ointment. Aristotle , when discussing different honeys, referred to pale honey as being good as a salve for sore eyes and wounds.

Olive Oil Beeswax And Honey

Another fun but slightly messy remedy for eczema to try at home is a mixture of olive oil, beeswax, and honey. A study investigated the topical application of olive oil, beeswax and honey mixtures for treatments of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. Treatment was applied to the skin three times daily for two weeks, they also tested three different mixtures with different proportions of olive oil, beeswax, and honey. After the two weeks, the honey mixture groups all showed improvement in pruritus , scaling and oozing. The beeswax and honey both help reduce inflammation. Honey can also help to reduce pain, edema , and scar formation, while also lowering colonization of Staphylococcus aureus like virgin coconut oil. Olive oil has been shown to exhibit antibacterial activity but olive oil alone can damage the skins barrier function so it should only be used on the skin in the mixture of beeswax and honey. The combination of these natural ingredients may be an appropriate treatment due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. The study does relay that further studies should be conducted but it is a natural mixture that may be a helpful addition to conventional therapy.
