Laundry Detergent For Sensitive Skin
The goal of laundry is simple â to clean our clothes and other items. However, for those with sensitive skin, achieving âcleanâ may not always be a straightforward task. Have you ever thought you are sacrificing cleaning power when using some dye-free and perfume-free laundry detergents? Itâs important to know that not all of these detergents have the same cleaning power.
Why does cleaning power matter? Some difficult-to-remove stains, like body soil, which includes body oils, skin flakes and sweat, can be hard to see when it doesnât leave an obvious residue behind, and that potentially irritating residue builds up and remains in contact with your sensitive skin. That is why it is important to choose a detergent that provides effective cleaning, while remaining gentle on skin.
Scanning electron microscope images below show polycotton fabrics washed separately using two different detergents, A and B. More soil residues remain on clothing fibers washed with the leading dye- and perfume-free detergent A than with Tide Free & Gentle detergent B .
*Magnification 2,000x. Images have been colorized. Fabrics went through eight wash cycles in soiled conditions.
Dapple Baby Natural Laundry Detergent
Dapple is a fantastic brand of gentle cleaners that are sensitive enough for a babys touch and skin, but powerful on stains. Their product line includes a good range of dish, surface and clothing cleaners. Thus far, Ive sampled their surface wipes, dish soap, and liquid natural laundry detergent. All are commendable, but were talking laundry right now
I found Dapple Baby Laundry Detergent to be effective and the closest to traditional laundry detergent. It wasnt quite as concentrated or deep cleaning as some of the other brands we tried. That said, Dapple did leave our clothes soft and fresh, and moms will like that this brand is pediatrician-approved for little ones with eczema. For more info visit www.dapplebaby.com.

What About Epsom Salt
Some online recipes call for Epsom salt in DIY laundry products but that is not what you want. Epsom salt is not the same chemical as regular salt. While Epsom salt is generally better in bath and beauty products, regular salt works better for laundry products, especially if you have hard water as I do. It will keep your clothes brighter and in much better condition.
Liquid Detergent Is Better Than Tablets
Liquid formulas are preferred, as they dissolve more easily in water. They also reduce any potential residue left behind from insufficient rinsing. Furthermore, the powders and tablets are caustic. Plus, with liquid detergent, you can use less than the recommended dose, which is always more than you need. A heaping tablespoon is sufficient for a load.
When washing your childs clothes, try setting an extra rinse cycle to remove all the detergent.

Top 3 Washing Powder For Babies With Eczema
Little is more upsetting than seeing a child struggle to cope with allergy-prone skin. Itching and scratching can be a particular problem, leading to infection and scarring in smaller children unable to relax or understand why they are so uncomfortable.
For this reason, finding suitable laundry products for eczema ranked very highly for parents keen to soothe their childrens distress and improve skin health.
Alternative tips for helping your childs eczema include providing cotton gloves to stop scratching and using natural fibres in their clothing, and also rinsing all clothing and bedding on a hot wash twice to ensure that every last scrap of detergent was rinsed from the fabric.
